Anna Ward, worship leader

Anna (pronounced Ah-nuh) is a passionate lover of Jesus who grew up in Wilson, NC. As the child of a pastor and a missionary to the Deaf, she grew up immersed in both the deaf and hearing communities at church, which fostered her deep love for music and a passion for supporting individuals with disabilities. She graduated with a degree in Sacred Music from Gardner-Webb University (2006) and earned a Master’s in Music Therapy from Appalachian State University (2010).

Anna is the proud wife to Matt Ward, a Boone, NC native, She is also a mom to Jonah (8), Silas (7), and soon-to-be-adopted Divya (3) from India. Having committed her life to Jesus at age 4, Anna's been worshipping ever since, starting her musical journey with piano and singing. She’s been leading worship since middle school (hello, youth band!) and picked up the guitar in college.

When she’s not leading worship, Anna works as the Senior Director of Disability Services at High Point University, where she loves helping students gain access to academics and campus life.

With a heart for creating Jesus-centered worship experiences, Anna is excited to the 2024 Embrace Women's Conference and can’t wait to share a powerful time of worship together!
